A jib crane differs from a rotary crane in that it cannot use a complete pitch circle as a workspace. However, the work space made up of a partial pitch circle could reach 360°. After reaching the maximum pivoting distance, the crane needs to change direction. The pivoting area of the crane is determined by the site or by stops that are integrated into its construction. A slewing jib crane is installed in a certain position, around which heavy loads need to be regularly lifted and moved in order to facilitate jib crane installation. A typical area of operation for this type of crane is around production and machine tools that need to be loaded with heavy transport containers. Hall slewing jib cranes are general controlled via a cable or remote control. A crane operating license is required for this type of controlling system.
