Product description for John Deere 50

Built in the 1950s, the JOHN DEERE Model 50 represents the second generation of JOHN DEERE tractors. It is a classic model and a great addition to any collection of vintage farm machinery. JOHN DEERE 50 History Introduced in 1952, the JOHN DEERE 50 replaced the JOHN DEERE B that had been a staple of the company’s line since 1932. The new model featured a number of enhancements, including live Powr-Trol hydraulics, independent power take-off (PTO) transmission, and duplex carburetion. The 50 was a larger version of the JOHN DEERE 40 and smaller than the JOHN DEERE 60. Production on the row-crop tractor at JOHN DEERE’s Waterloo, Iowa factory ended in 1956 and it was replaced by the JOHN DEERE 520. JOHN DEERE 50 Specs A JOHN DEERE 50 for sale during its original production run was available with one of three engines. Today, buyers will find 50 tractors with 3.1-litre, two-cylinder gasoline, all-fuel, or LP gas engines. The tractor is fitted with a 15.5 gallon (58.7-litre) fuel tank. The tractor features unsynchronised gear transmission with a dry disc clutch, six forward gears, and one reverse gear. Independent rear PTO was available as an option and some tractors may have this feature. Other JOHN DEERE 50 specs include two-wheel drive, manual steer, and expanding shoe brakes. Power steering was available as an option on tractors in 1954. A JOHN DEERE Model 50 for sale at auction may include a loader attachment. JD 50 Dimensions The JD 50 tractor has an operating weight of 4,855 pounds (2,202 kilograms) and a ballasted weight of 5,500 pounds (2,494 kilograms). Featuring a wheelbase of 90 inches (228 centimetres), the tractor is 132.75 inches (337 centimetres) long and 86.625 inches (220 centimetres) wide. It has a height of 58.825 inches (151 centimetres).
