JOHN DEERE 4430 Tractor Production History
During the 1970s, a new generation of John Deere tractors was introduced including the JOHN DEERE 4430 tractor. Featuring 36 new models, these Generation II tractors had the first successful fully integrated cabs. The innovative cab design was isolated from the tractor and separated by rubber bushings that helped absorb vibrations. The interior was also insulated to reduce noise and protect the operator from the elements, as well as reduce engine noise inside the cab. Generation II tractors offered one of the quietest rides available at the time.
John Deere launched its Generation II tractors in 1970. In 1972, the 125-horsepower JOHN DEERE 4430 was introduced. The tractor along with the larger 4630 and smaller 4230 models were marketed as the ‘Sound Idea’ tractors because of the innovative Sound Gard Body operators cab. The 4430 was manufactured at John Deere’s Waterloo, Iowa factory in the United States. Production of the row crop tractor ceased in 1977.
